Hi all,

Well day one into exhibition installation and so far so good. Alex and Jas were hard at it in the gallery - well they are this is just not a great shot!

And our technician genius and sponsor Damien from Solvit was hard at it on the computers

and Diana was composing her email media releases and I was traipsing around with the camera.
The galley is going to look great. Damien is connecting the projectors directly to the hard drive so that the wall becomes the monitor. We did a test today and still need to iron out some wireless stuff and it will be seamless. Without the monitors there is no distraction, you can sit at the desk in front of the projection with the keyboard and mouse and navigate around looking just at the projected screen image. A big thank you to CCAS for lending us two of their projectors, we really appreciate your support.
Throughout this exhibition we will have charis and small tables for people to sit and read blogs or take out their knitting and knit to their hearts content. It will be quite an experience to have a more informal setting in the gallery space.
More work arrived today, I love getting stuff in the post its great fun. Thank you Saffron and Janette - I love your pieces. As the knitting is installed I will update images so you can keep track, particularly those interstate and overseas.
If you are in Canberra tune into Artsound FM 92.7 this Saturday 7 July to hear more about the show and the contributing knitters.
The new Craft ACT website is up and running yaaaaaaaaaaaay. This has been a very long process, due mostly to how bsuy we are here in the office, but wonderful Mark from Genius Moon has broken through and it is now live. If you go to Exhibitions and Events, Knit1 Blog1 is listed and you can download a PDF of all the events planned to go along with this exhibition.
A big thanks to Ampersand Duck who is hosting the blogging workshop. Thanks for the fabbo promotion and I loved the little graphic of a compter knitting, cheers.
And finally not gorgetting that this exhibition is part of a bigger thing again - FoCA / IN PUBLIC / - the Festival of Contemporary Art here in Canberra. For a full list of all the events go to CCAS website and check out the notice board link.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you are intersted in coming along or putting in some knitting - deadline July 11 - and don't forget you need to fill in a Participation Form.

I'm really interested to see how it all comes together. Was hoping to be in tomorrow with my stuff, but I might stretch it to Wednesday. Certainly before the 11 July deadline.
