Hi All,

Well the day started with no outward going emails, but we were finally saved by our web designer Mark and confirmed by our tech hero Damien. Its amazing how the world shrinks without email and then there is the inevitable catch up with things to go out...

THE OPENING OF KNIT1 BLOG1 - FRIDAY 13 JULY 6:15PM

As I have mentioned this project is part of a bigger festival - FoCA (Festival of Contemporary Art) IN PUBLIC - right here in Canberra, which we are co-hosting with the Canberra Contemporary Art Space and the Australian National University School of Art Gallery.

Craft ACT has curated the exhibition Knit1 Blog1 specifically for this festival. We are also hosting another special exhibition - Weaving Dry Water, a fantastic ceramic sculpture exhibition by artist Bev Hogg.

For this Festival we have a special series of running openings - really a GRAND OPENING - to celebrate all the main exhibitions and which goes like this:

For the Craft ACT opening I will be doing an introduction to Knit1 Blog1 and guest speaker Jennifer Lamb, Director Goulburn Regional Gallery, will speak to Bev's work.

For a real night I encourage everyone to do the roving opening as it will be a lot of fun, and the perfomance at Canberra Contemporary Art Space should not be missed.

Please bring your knitting if so inclined, and after chatting to Shopping Sherpa (thank you), we will be doing live blogging at the opening at Craft ACT on to this site.

Tonight I went to Bronwen's house to pick up her knitting. One of the pieces for the show is the vacuum stored Car Cosy - the cosy that Bronwen and a number of children from 3 different After School Care programs made for our last Festival of Contemporary Art, Dimensions Variable, 2005. And a very nice bag and a sweet set of 2 leg warmers and a skirt. Check it out:

See you THERE!
